HA. Ihavandhoo

Located in the northern-most geographic atoll in the country, Ihavandhoo holds great value in the story of Sultan Mohammad Thakurufaanu (Bodu thakurufaanu). It is known that the great Maldivian hero’s mother was an Ihavandhoo lady. The island has a mosque built by Sultan Ibrahim Muhirudheen in 1701 using brain corals.

Showcasing various Maldivian Artifacts at “Imagu” Hall (Purchase of tickets required). Presenting various information on the Maldivian Fishing industry explaining and demonstrating the procedures involved from leaving on the boat to bringing the catch back to the island. Further demonstrations of the events that come after, with different stalls showing various products that are produced from the fish caught.
