The 8-hectare reclaimed island in Kaafu Atoll, developed as a gateway for the inhabitants residing in the greater Male' area or the county's capital, is a picnic island. Both locals and visitors can take advantage of the amenities on offer at this recreational island, including BBQ, watersports, dining, renting day use rooms, and many more. Visitors should be advised that single-use plastic is prohibited in Kudagiri, thus they can only bring reusable bags and refillable water bottles. The lagoon's exquisite clarity is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and other aquatic activities. Additionally, Kudagiri is an accessible picnic island with ramps, wheelchair-accessible shelters, toilets, and ring roads for traveller with disabilities. Additionally, admission and transportation are free for those with disabilities.
You can book a ferry from Male’ or Hulhumale to Kudagiri and pay the entrance charge and if you're taking your own transfer you are required to register and pay the entrance charge to explore and enjoy the island. Locals do not have to pay for entrance during the weekends or public holidays, but it is obligatory for tourists and people with work permits to do so. The least populous atoll in the Maldives is Vaavu, also known as the "WOW ATOLL." The tiny island of Fulidhoo, which has fewer than 300 permanent residents, is located just 57 kilometers or 1.5 hours by speedboat from Velana International Airport. The secluded atoll has only 5 inhabited islands. The atoll's main tourist destination, Fulidhoo, has 246 beds spread over 21 guesthouses. A family of enormous stingrays and nurse sharks live in Fulidhoo, a beach known for its wide lagoon and beautiful sandy beach. The jetty area has a plethora of marine life and is the ideal place to see some stunning manta rays.
Fulidhoo is a famous destination for ocean adventures and one of the top spots for snorkeling and scuba diving trips. The "Langiri Jehun" dance, performed by men lined up, holding flower bouquets, and following a pattern of steps and bends to attract a woman, is another well-known tradition from the island.  Visitors may enjoy both nature and culture on the island of Fulidhoo.


V. Fulidhoo 

The atoll's capital, Muli, is only three hours away by speedboat from Male', the nation's capital. All sea turtle species are protected by law in the Maldives, and Muli is one of the islands that is home to the endangered black turtle, also known as kanzu kahanbu, which is found in the north of the island. Visitors may enjoy dolphin cruising at Muli Channel, one of the top dolphins viewing locations in the Maldives. The F1 and Mushroom are two famous surf breaks in Muli where many Maldivian surfers enjoy the waves. This island's boat building industry can produce vessels up to 100 feet long.

M.Muli 

The largest and longest natural island in the Maldives, with a size of 595.60 hectares and an infinite supply of green and blue, is the island Gan of Laamu atoll. One of the Maldives' most exquisite and lengthy white sand beaches is on this island. Tourists would keep discovering the blue lagoon and the vast reef system that is home to an abundance of marine life and coral gardens. The 18-kilometre causeway connecting the four islands of Gan, Maandhoo, Kadhdhoo, and Fonadhoo gives Gan a distinct vibe from the rest of the Maldivian islands. The island is not only locally popular for the fairy pond or freshwater pond called “Paree Fengandu” but also have a large historical ruin, “Gamu Haiy Theli” (last Buddhist temple of the Maldives) and Goatha Miskiy area which is a historical mosque spot where visitors can learn the rich history. 

L.Gan 

Fonadhoo is an inhabited island situated 258.97 km south of the capital of Maldives and is the administrative capital of Laamu atoll since 1992. Locals and tourists can reach Fonadhoo most conveniently by taking a 50-minute domestic flight from Velana International Airport to Kadhdhoo Airport, followed by a 15-minute cab ride from the airport to the island. The Friday Mosque is one of the island's historical landmarks. The primary sources of income for the local people are agriculture and fishing. Goalha riha or Maldivian fish ball curry is a local delicacy from Laamu atoll which is a local specialty of laamu atoll that is a part of Maldivian cuisine.

L.Fonadhoo

Baresdhoo is among the 61 uninhabited islands of Laamu atoll. White sand beach and turquoise lagoon surround lush, green islands with rows of waving coconut palms is just 5 minutes boat ride away from kadhdhoo airport. The island is allocated for tourism development primarily for integrated tourism development projects. The stunning Laamu atoll is the shooting location for Planet Scarif where Baresdhoo is one of the Star Wars Island where Rouge one was filmed. For Star Wars enthusiasts, Baresdhoo is the ideal destination if wanting a vacation on planet Scarif in the Maldives.

L.Baresdhoo 

Kolamaafushi is a smaller island formed by joining Maafushi and Kola. One of the most isolated inhabited islands in the Huvadhoo Atoll is located 373 kilometers south of the Maldives' capital. It takes about 20 minutes by speedboat to reach Kolamaafushi, which is situated in the southwest corner of the atoll. In the atoll, this tiny island is renowned as the center of fishing and majority of the regional specialties are fish-based. The "kandukukulhu" fish curry from Kolamaafushi is well known. The curry paste known as "huvadhoo havaadhu" is used to make this dish. A must-try local sweet treat is "Huvadhoo bondi".
Both diving and spearfishing are popular pastimes among the residents. There are two distinct diving locations close to the island for divers. One is the Hurandhoo Reef, rich in corals and caves and is situated in the northwest of the island. And the other, Hithaadhoo reef, an undiscovered diving area rich in coral life and situated in the southwest of the island. Giant turtles, manta rays, and whale sharks are frequently seen in this area. There are a few well-known surfing and snorkelling spots on the island, including Malaim East, Villingili Corner Break, and Kurendhooni Break.


GA.Kolamafushi 

Belonging to the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll in the southern parts of the Maldivian islands, Hoan’dehdhoo has remained as an agricultural island. The atoll is popular for its chains of uninhabited islands that can be walked from Hoan’dehdhoo during low tides. The island hosts a historical mosque dating back to 500 years. Hoan’dehdhoo is popular for Boduberu or Maldivian big drum, the instrument is essential to Maldivian tradition and culture and is core of traditional Maldivian music. The dance and melodies of Boduberu are comparable to those of east and south-west Africa. The magic of Boduberu music lies in its power to unite community and inspire everyone to dance under the stars and Boduberu grew into a method of welcoming visitors to an island. During the rally you can dance with the locals to the authentic Boduberu music. 

GDH.Hoadehdhoo 

The Seenu Atoll's southernmost island, Gan, is about 64 kilometres from the equator. One of three international airports in the Maldives, Gan Airport served as a Royal Air Force station for the British Army in the 1950s or a naval and airbase for the British in second World War. Originally constructed by the British during the 1950s as a staging area for its RAF, it was handed over to the Maldivian Government in 1976. Maldives has three islands by the name of Gan. The island of Gan in the Huvadhu Atoll is uninhabited. The Laamu Atoll's Gan island is populated but no airport. A 14 km long artificial causeway connecting the islands of Hithadho, Maradho, Maradhofeydhoo, Feydhoo, and Gan has been constructed on the western side of the atoll. If you want to stay in a five-star hotel close to Gan International Airport, Shangri-La's Villinglli Resort and Canareef Resort are also options and one kilometer separates the three-star Equator Village Resort from Gan International Airport. One of the few locations in the Maldives where you may engage in this adventurous skydiving is Gan. Gan has a dual personality as a public island despite being regarded as an uninhabited island due to having only one resort.

S.Gan 

The Maldives' Addu City, which is situated directly on the equator, is the second largest city in terms of population density. With a surface size of 526.50 hectares, Hithadhoo is the second largest island in the Maldives and the administrative center of Addu City. With around 11,000 inhabitants, it is also the second-most densely populated island in the Maldives. The lush foliage, mangroves, and marshy taro farms of Hithadho island set it apart from the other Maldivian islands. The natural park on Hithadhoo, also known as the Eedhigali Kilhi and Kottey protected area, is the largest of its kind in the Maldives at 570 hectares and is home to some of the country's most diverse birdlife. It is the largest lake in the nation with 28 different bird species present, this location is well-liked by birders and offers guided excursions. Addu is renowned throughout the nation for distinctive range of Maldivian cuisine made with seasonal local ingredients.
