Lh. Hinnavaru
Situated 146.11 km from the capital of Maldives, Hinnavaru is one of the inhabited islands of the Lhaviyani Atoll. With a population of nearly 5,000 people, the island is the second most populous in Lhaviyani Atoll. Hinnavaru is well known for its unique food items; Athujeh, Kulhi Hadhiyaa, and Ulhaali. With fishing being the primary occupation of the Hinnavaru, the island boasts significant fishing fleets with the Felivaru Fish Canning Factory just a few meters away. The out reef of the island boasts a steep drop-off with several small caves and overhangs to explore. Some of the marine life found includes soldier fish, moray eels, cleaner shrimps, triggerfish, tuna, jacks, and eagle rays.
