A ‘cultural evening’, prepared by a party that revives traditional sports and the “Ranikamanaa” team, to show the local cultural activities such as “Kurufali Jehun” (a stick dance performed on a boat), “Dhandi Jehun” (a dance performed by a group of men where they sing and dance to the beat by hitting their ‘dhandi’ (sticks) with that of the performer facing him), “Maafathi Jehun” (a dance performed by women dancing in two rows of ten each, carrying a semi-circular string with fake flowers attached), “Bandiya Jehun” (a dance performed by women, where they mark the beat with a metal water pot, while wearing metal rings), “Dhafi Negun” (a form of traditional dance performed by men and/or women wearing the Maldivian traditional dress while the participants stand in a circle and dance to the local cultural music using decorated wooden sticks.)

Belonging to the Noonu Atoll in the northern parts of the Maldivian islands, Landhoo has remained a centre for stone carving and engraving for several centuries. The island hosts a 20ft mound or Hawitta; the remains of a Buddhist stupa with its origins dating back to over a millennium. Statues have been excavated from the site.

Situated 146.11 km from the capital of Maldives, Hinnavaru is one of the inhabited islands of the Lhaviyani Atoll. With a population of nearly 5,000 people, the island is the second most populous in Lhaviyani Atoll. Hinnavaru is well known for its unique food items; Athujeh, Kulhi Hadhiyaa, and Ulhaali. With fishing being the primary occupation of the Hinnavaru, the island boasts significant fishing fleets with the Felivaru Fish Canning Factory just a few meters away. The out reef of the island boasts a steep drop-off with several small caves and overhangs to explore. Some of the marine life found includes soldier fish, moray eels, cleaner shrimps, triggerfish, tuna, jacks, and eagle rays.

Goidhoo Island lies in a small separate atoll along Fulhadu and Fehendhu. Goidhoo Atoll (also Goidu or Goifulhafehendhu), Horsburgh Atoll in the Admiralty Chart, is separated from South Maalhosmadulhu by a six-mile-broad (9.7 km) channel. This atoll is oval in shape and small, its greatest length being ten miles (16 km). The inner lagoon has a depth of 17 to 20 fathoms; it has a sandy bottom mixed with mud and clay. Unlike the lagoons of most small atolls of the Maldives, this lagoon is free from coral heads in its center.

One of the inhabited islands of Alif Alif Atoll, Thoddoo is 61.51 km northwest of the capital of Maldives. Thoddoo is famous for its agriculture and farming. One-third of the island is used for agriculture. They use this land to farm all necessary items for the Maldivian markets, such as tropical vegetables like chilies, brinjal, bitter gourd, drumstick, etc., and several types of fruits such as watermelons, papayas, and bananas. The island is the largest producer of watermelon in the Maldives.

The capital of the Alif Alif Atoll administrative division, Rasdhoo is an inhabited island situated 58.26 km west of the capital of Maldives. Rasdhoo is famous for its habitats of black and white tip reef sharks. The reef is also home to eagle rays and huge schools of reef fish, batfish, parrot fish, napoleon fish, and schools of barracudas. Rasdhoo is also famous for its diving, as it has one of the best areas in the Maldives for diving. The island also offers a variety of water sports such as jet skiing, wake/keyboarding, kite surfing, and more.

Dhigurah is located 96 km southeast of Male in southern Ari Atoll. The length of the island is almost 4 km, and the width (in the widest part) is 300 m. The island narrows in a southward direction and ends with a sandbank.

In the local language, Dhivehi, the name of the island can be directly translated into ‘Long Island’ and has consequently the longest beach of the atoll (and in one of the longest in Maldives). Its surrounding waters are known to be a famous whale shark area.
